Pastor Steffen Weil

“mittendrin” Church Plant

In 2009, Pastor Steffen Weil moved from West Germany to Potsdam in East Germany, just outside of Berlin, to plant an evangelical church in the heart of the athiestic, post-communism culture. He and his leadership team named the church mittendrin, which means “in the thick of it” because they wanted to impact this post-Christian East-German culture with the hope of the Gospel of Christ. Today, mittendrin has over 200 attending weekly services, half of them athiestic “not-yet-believers” and has planted two other churches.
