We partner with the City to City Church Planting Movement. In 2009 Pastor Steffen and Renata Weil planted a church in Potsdam, Germany. The leadership team named the church Mittendrin, which means “in the thick of it,” because they wanted to impact their non-believing community. Since then, mittendrin has helped plant seven other churches in the surrounding regions of East Germany where fewer than 1% of people are Christian. We are building relationships with a number of them – including mittendrin Cottbus, led by Pastor Aaron Kohler. Pastor Aaron visited The Ascent Church last year.

Steffen and Renata now live in Hamburg and work with churches through Alliance Mission. God is multiplying our global impact through Steffen’s leadership as he coaches and mentors pastors in Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland.
