Make Room: Beyond
We're calling this season of Make Room "Beyond" - based on Ephesians 3:20-21 because this is a BIG project that we know for sure is bigger than we humanly can undertake - but these verses tell us that GOD IS ABLE "to do exceeding abundantly BEYOND all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us..." and HE alone gets all the glory. We're not able - but HE IS, and HE alone has the power and strength to go BEYOND.

Trusting. Believing. Beyond.
We are experiencing an incredible time of spiritual growth and impact in the life of our church family - and we can see all around us the growth that our community is experiencing as well. Thousands of people are moving to our area as we speak. We have an unprecedented opportunity to make room in our hearts and on our campus to share the good news of Jesus to lost people in our own backyard right now - and for years to come.
God has been so good to The Ascent Church. I believe we can all collectively sense that it’s time to take the next step.
What if God’s faithfulness in this past season at Ascent has prepared us to experience God’s future faithfulness in a brand new way?
I am convinced our dark world needs the bright light of Jesus like never before. There is no greater cause on the planet than sharing the hope, healing and freedom that Jesus offers each of us. For that very reason, Heidi and I are excited to invite you to join us as we follow the Spirit, make room for what God is already doing and move forward in this new season together.

Pastor Brian Petak
Our Primary Goal
100% Engagement
People of Ascent Church, the opportunity before us is rooted in God’s faithfulness and His love for us. We love Jesus more than we love anyone else because He has loved us like no one else ever has. We love each other because that’s how Jesus told us the world will know we are His disciples. We love lost people because that’s who Jesus came for. In an ever-changing world, the local church has always been and is now the carrier of the greatest message the world has ever known: the Gospel. Everything we do is a response to what God has first done in our own lives – starting in our hearts, and flowing outward. So, we want to make room in our hearts for the people Jesus loves.
Because of the thousands of lives that have been changed by Jesus at The Ascent Church in the last 30+ years, we are confident we are just at the beginning of the new work God wants to do now. But, before God can do a work through us, He must first do a work in us. We are surrounded by good causes. And we are convinced that the church is the greatest cause that has an immediate cure for the hope, healing and freedom people are seeking: Jesus. The question we are asking in this season is, “What does it look like for a group of Jesus followers to see the church as the single greatest cause to which you could ever give yourself?”
We are praying for all-in engagement from those who call Ascent Church home. This is not a season of spectating, but a call for everyone to participate. We are inviting everyone to join this journey of the heart – to make room for the people Jesus loves and the people Jesus brings. Do we live our lives in response to the love of God? What has He held back from us? Nothing. Because our lives have been changed by the all-in love of Jesus, do we live with a generous posture toward God and toward others? Are we living and giving in a way that changes us, or has it become comfortable and routine?
Our Secondary Goal
We are believing God to see another $3 MILLION committed beyond our completed Phase ONE project, to reduce the construction loan amount needed to build our campus with a new worship center, more classrooms, and more student space. This will fuel the work of God THROUGH us.
We believe that God is directing us to seize today’s opportunity to capitalize on our strategic location between two local schools in a rapidly growing community. Imagine The Ascent as the place where your kids and grandkids experience the truth of Jesus. The place where they experience inspiration, instruction, conviction, and fun. The place where their life aspirations and God’s plans intersect. The place they excitedly invite their friends to join them to experience and respond to God.

Project Phases
Phase One - COmplete
March 2025 - Present
In March, we dedicated our brand new atrium, took communion and sang the doxology together there – giving thanks for God’s provision to accomplish this important part of our campus that provides a more welcoming environment for the people Jesus is bringing, and more relational discipleship space for conversation and relationships to occur. WOW! Can you believe it? Phase One is Complete!
Last year, we set a goal for ourselves to raise $4.5M to fund two years of our ministry budget ($1.5M per year) and $1.5M for the new atrium (Phase ONE), and we shared that any dollars committed beyond the $4.5M would go toward a future expanded worship center. Well… God blew us away – through YOUR generosity! Now only did we raise $5.6M in commitments over the next two years, but in actuality, or giving rate is exceeding $6M! That is more than $1.5M beyond our goal! We believe God is clearly saying to us: “We’re not finished yet!”
This is a full list of the improvements made in phase one:
- New atrium and lobby connection, including HVAC
- Parking lot expansion, retaining wall and new sidewalks
- Rooftop solar
- Security Camera and Access Control System
- East side storage shed
- Fixed drainage and leakage issues
- Painted the church’s exterior with a fresh coat of paint
- Silicon roof coating to seal up to 1,000 leaks
- Tiny town update (log cabin facade, cabinets, blinds, carpet, etc…)
- Interior refresh: hallways and adult classrooms
- New carpeting in classrooms
- Exploratory excavatin and construction on the north side of the building (prep for future worship center)
Phase Two - Ongoing
For the past year, and because of your generosity, we have been doing our due diligence with our planning team, architects, and contractors to get prepared for Phase TWO should the Lord bless us further – and we’re ready to share some exciting new developments with you. This new worship center and student space will be a true game changer for our family of faith and our community if the Lord provides for this second part of our Make Room initiative.
Phase Two Costs
Total Estimated Worship Center Cost: $11M
Total “BEYOND” commitments needed to buy down the loan total: -3M
—
Total estimated construction loan to break ground: $8M
