“Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”  Luke 18:16

Our goal in Ascent Kids is to see children come to know how much Jesus loves them and develop and personal relationship with him, be biblically discipled, grow in Christ, and develop a biblical world view, all while having a lot of fun in a safe environment.

Ascent Kids is at 9 and 10:45 am on Sundays. Each class will learn more about God through object lessons, dramas, science experiments, woodworking, special crafts, and art projects. Our Elevate (5th/6th grade) class focuses on developing a biblical worldview through testimonies, mission highlights, and fun activities.

We work to help children see how the gospel can impact their lives by encouraging leaders to share answers to prayer, personal stories, real (age-appropriate) struggles, and how these things impact their lives.

Safety and Security

Before ever serving in Ascent Kids, all volunteers are required to complete a background check, extensive interview, and a thorough Ascent Kids application. Each classroom is required to have two leaders at all times for security purposes when children are present. The Ascent Security Team performs continual safety and security checks during the entire time children are present on campus and in classrooms. Parents are required to check children in through our secure system and present their claim ticket upon picking up their children at the end of service. In the event of a lost claim ticket, the parent will be required to show their ID.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding our security policy at The Ascent, please contact Fran Thompson, Ascent Kids Director, at (719) 884-8685 or fthompson@theascentchurch.com.

We look forward to seeing you at Ascent Kids!

 What to Expect:

Ascent Kids, located on the second floor, runs at the same time as both our 9am and 10:45am services. Families can check in starting at 8:45am.

Check In:

By registering a child, families agree they have not knowingly had or been exposed to a transmissible illnesses and their child has not had a fever in the past 24 hours. Each child will receive two tags – onefor the child to wear and one for the family to keep and show upon pick up. Please  keep your child’s pick up tag with you!

We offer many ways to check your child in:
-Families who are in our system are emailed a weekly registration link where they can register their children for class.

-We offer a mobile check where families, who are in our system, can check in when they arrive using the last four digits of their phone numbers and print out tags.

-If you have not registered before hand and don’t want to do mobile registration or are new, you will be asked to fill out registration paperwork on Sunday morning.

During Service:

If we need to contact you during service, you will receive a text. We also have a ten minute cry policy.

Check Out:

We ask that everyone keep their child’s tag and show it upon pick up.
